In this internship, student can gain clinical experience in a wide variety of clinical tasks including diagnostic procedures (e.g. intakes, semi-structured interviews, personality interviews), study visits, neurpsychological inventories, hands-on MRI experience, treatment of patients in the outpatient clinic, DBS parameter setting and many more associated tasks. These tasks will be superivsed by two PhD's in close cooperation with with two psychiatrists and one post-doctoral researcher. We can host 3-5 interns in the team (of which +/- 2 Medicin Master students). Always contact us before application to ensure that a spot is available and to discuss intern plan. The student is free to write his/her thesis about a wide variety of subjects. It is possible to analyze data from the current study, but we also have important open research questions that may be investigated using a litrature review or data from the prior DBS depression study. Some examples of thesis subjects (Clinical data of current study): - The efficacy of DBS in treatment resistant depression - The effect of DBS on cognition in treatment resistant depression - The effect of DBS on personality in treatment resistant depression Examples that may involve analyzing data from litrature or the prior DBS depression study: - Can we predict response of DBS in depression based clinical characteristics? - What symptoms are best treated with DBS (transdiagnostically; using both OCD and depression cohorts) No matter the subject of the thesis, students can always contribute to the clinical tasks noted above to gain clinical experience in conducting clinical research.
